Title: Medical Supply Technicians- Sterile Processing (1099)

Pay rate: $33.00 W2 or $38.00 hr 1099

Duration: 1 year

  • Shall furnish all key personnel to provide sterile processing service necessary to perform onsite for reuseable medical devices (RMD) in inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community living centers to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the range of MST services are the same as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of the quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by a state, territory, or commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the US or in the District of Columbia.
  • All MST will have a minimum of 2 years recent experience.
  • Shall have use of all required patient care equipment, supplies, and computer access for performing services required by this contract

Technical Proficiency:

  • Medical Supply Technicians to be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
  • Shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification related to the provision of services performed.
  • Shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for all Contractor's medical supply technicians.
  • Shall be responsible for abiding by the Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations (referenced herein) that govern the medical staff behavior.

VA HOURS OF OPERATION/SCHEDULING

  • VA Business Hours: Multiple Shifts to include: 7:00 am-3:30pm; 7:30am-4:00pm; 8:00am-4:30pm; 10:30am-7:00pm; 11:30am-8:00pm; 12:30pm-9:00pm; 3:30pm-12:00am.
  • Contract personnel shall be available and present during normal VAPAHCS hours, which will be established and may be revised as deemed appropriate for safe patient care.
  • Currently, normal operating hours are twenty-four hours per day for 7 days per week. Based on requirements and history, the schedule shifts will be 8 hours. Employees will receive their schedule 2-4 weeks in advance. This can change due to patient care needs.

A. Off-hours Coverage: Contractors will not be on-call.

B. Length of shifts: There will be seven different 8-hour shifts.

C. Holidays and Overtime: There will be no holiday or overtime scheduled or authorized for payment.
