We are currently seeking Pharmacist at FDC Philadelpahia
Pay & Benefits:
- Pay Rate: $58.00/Hour
- Monday thru Friday; 40 hours per week (except Federal Holidays) normally between the hours 7:00 am - 4:00 pm with a 30-minute, unpaid lunch break; must be flexible with schedule.
Place of Performance: The services will be rendered on-site at Federal Detention Center (FDC) Philadelphia 700 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19106-1548

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, providing patient care, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize medical management. This role requires a strong understanding of medication administration, aseptic techniques, and a commitment to patient safety in various care settings, including acute care and pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, perform, and or verify ordering, stocking, storing, and dispensing of prescription, and non-prescription medications while demonstrating knowledge of the budgetary guidelines and Facility Formulary constraints.
- Maintain pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly fashion consistent with departmental safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain stock of up-to-date medications (checking for outdates per policy) in the main pharmacy, satellite camp, crash carts, emergency bags and Automated Dispensing Systems.
- Maintain stock of forms as needed and updating Pill Line/Restricted Medication cards for AICs as well as filing Medication Administration Records into the Medical Record.
- Prepare unit dose or pre-packaged medications.
- Complete and maintain competency as indicated by the ability to complete the Pharmacy Competency Module while maintaining knowledge of BOP Formulary and any changes to this document.
- Maintain the narcotics count and the needle and syringe inventories. Maintain and re-stock adequate supplies for the "Night Stock" cabinet and perform audits of the "Night Stock" or Automated Dispensing System.
- Possess a working knowledge and maintain technical computer skills pertaining to pharmacy issues.
- Must participate in Improving Organizational Performance Data and Quality Assurance Activities as directed by the Pharmacist or HSA.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution (Preferred).
- Active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
- Experience or training in acute care settings preferred; pharmacy residency is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and medication administration protocols.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique for sterile compounding is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.
- Previous experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not mandatory.
