Legal Support Workers

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Work Location - 4030 Esplanade Way, Tallahassee, Florida

Pay rate: $35.71 Hourly

40 hours a week (Mon-Fri) FULL TIME

All Contractors must

* Be knowledgeable about how to maintain accurate records and files.

* Be knowledgeable about the State of Florida government business practices.

* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Understand how to maintain confidentiality of records in accordance with Chapter 119, F.S., and Department policy.

* Experience with DocuSign (desired but not mandatory).

* Have at least three (3) years of experience in leasing (desired but not mandatory).

* Assist in researching legal precedents, investigating facts, or preparing documents.

1. The contract staff shall comply fully with all DMS Information Technology policies, security procedures, laws and regulations of the United States, State of Florida and the Department in performance of the work proposed.

2. The contract staff shall successfully pass a level 2 background check conducted by the Department, pursuant to the background checks and screens language contained within the Temporary Staffing Services Contract before any work may begin.

Support SLERS Contract Manager

1. Monitoring and supervising the work of the Public Safety Paralegal position will be managed by the SLERS Contract Manager.

Lease Research

1. Provide assistance on the following:

a. Leases for space of equipment located on radio towers (including license agreements and/or service agreements),

b. Ground leases for DMS towers,

c. Ground leases where DMS is the sub-leasee,

d. Memorandums of Understanding,

e. Tower Use Agreements (TUA), also referred to as Use Agreements, and

f. Assignments and Assumption.

2. Provide support to the SLERS Contract Manager and Leasing Manager for uploading documents and recording information to a leasing tracking system for all items listed in #1.

3. Provide support to the Leasing Manager for the creation of and utilization of lease management procedures for the Division of Telecommunications.

4. Ensuring all State of Florida statutes and rules are followed for the management of leases.

5. Route any documents contemplated within this Scope of Work for internal approval and through to execution.

Administrative:

Create, manage, and maintain accurate leasing and contract files.
