NEEDED: Registered Nurses

STATUS: Accepting Full-Time and PRN

LOCATION: 9300 South Wilmot Road, Tucson, AZ 85756

SCHEDULE / HOURS: 40 hours per week  

  • 8-hour shift: 7:30 am - 4:00
  • 10-hour shift optional

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Must be certified to practice medicine in any state in the United States or territory.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of experience.
  • Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
  • Shall possess and submit proof of graduation from an accredited school.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff.
  • Perform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensure.
  • Administer medications as prescribed i.e., by mouth, intradermally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly.
  • Assist with distribution of medications at pill line.
  • Monitor and evaluate the response to therapy.
  • Perform skin testing.
  • Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate.
  • Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays.
  • Perform venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all reports in accordance with Bureau of Prisons and JACHO policy Screen laboratory tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the physician or physicians.
  • Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted for, stored, and disposed of according to institutional and national policy.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Ability and skill to operate EKG.
  • Clinically manage injuries by splinting and immobilizing
  • Attend to medical emergencies.
  • Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising program plans.
  • Assists in determining conditions, resources, and policies essential to delivery of the health care services.
  • Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
  • Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call, which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings, and providing clinical evaluations.
  • Provides a wide range of emergency services in the absence of the physician.
  • Perform duties as required but accept only those nursing assignments that are commensurate with his/her educational preparation, training, experience, and licensure laws.
  • Additional Nursing duties required.
