```Duties```
- Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from patients
- Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing
- Follow proper protocols and safety measures during specimen collection
- Maintain accurate records of patient information and test results
- Assist with other laboratory procedures as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program
- Certification as a phlebotomist preferred
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately

Qualifications:
Assist the Physician, Physician Assistant, and/or Nurse with patient flow in a clinic setting by measuring the patient’s vital signs and weight and scanning laboratory results in the Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies, specimen collection and process within the Health Service Unit, to include A&O in-processing, DNA per procedure, vaccine programs, Urine for pregnancy, and PPD updates.
Prepare and ensure specimens are packed and transported according to the contract or BOP Reference Lab and document per Health Services Unit Laboratory Procedures. Ensure that lab requests are completed properly and all reports are returned from the contract lab, provider notified, log results in as received, follow up appropriately, and file results in lab and medical record.
Acquire and maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and Unit Procedures necessary to accomplish the mission described herein, ensuring that the Laboratory Procedure Manual is updated accordingly.
Assist the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or his/her designee in the coordination of BOP and Contract Reference Lab contact, CLIA re-certification, maintenance of equipment and notification of needed supplies.
• Assist the HSA and Clinical Director with writing and implementing policies that deal with the laboratory program.
