Job Description for CNA
- Assisting mentally impaired or emotionally disturbed patients, working under direction of nursing and medical staff.
- Assisting with daily living activities.
- Leading patients in educational and recreational activities.
- Accompanying patients to and from examinations and treatments.
- Restraining violent patients.
- Examining patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.
- Reminding patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
- Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
- Staying up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure.
Units:
Delta forensic Unit: The "Delta forensic unit " refers to a specialized unit within the Montana State Hospital (MSH) in Warm Springs, Montana, focused on providing forensic mental health services.
This unit serves individuals who have been involved with the legal system and are deemed to have mental health needs requiring specialized care and evaluation.
Admission Unit: The admission unit is the area where patients are formally admitted, transferred, or discharged. It manages the administrative and logistical aspects of a patient's entry and exit from the hospital, ensuring a smooth and organized process. This includes tasks like collecting patient information, coordinating pre-admission procedures, and maintaining bed occupancy records.
Spratt-Geri-Psych: The Spratt Unit is a 60-bed unit at the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs, Montana, that provides geropsychiatric and skilled nursing care to elderly patients with dementia or severe mental illness.
Note: The candidate needs to travel by their own vehicle as there is no public transportation, including Uber or buses nearby the facility.
