We are currently seeking Autotransfusionist for VA Gainesville, FL.

Pay: $25.00 per hour.

Sign-on bonus: $2,500.

Place of performance: VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 40 hours per week normally between the hours 8:00 am-4:30 pm with a 30-minute, unpaid lunch break; must be flexible with schedule. On call is required.

Description of duties:

• Assist the Cardio-Thoracic service with by-pass surgical cases and valve replacement of various types.
• Responsible for preparation, and operation of the heart and lung machines/pumps in conjunction with maintaining a sterile environment for procedures maintaining blood volume in the patients preventing shock or air embolus.
• Assemble supplies and equipment in preparation to accept patients on extra corporeal circulation in cases of premature cardiac arrest or failure.
• Other services include preparation, maintenance and operation of VA owned equipment to include the heart lung machine, auto transfusion pump, intra-aortic balloon pump and centrifugal ventricular assist device.

Qualifications

• Must be certified.
• Must have 10 years' experience.
• Must have and maintain BLS certification.
