NEEDED: PHARMACIST

LOCATION: 2600 US Hwy 301 S, Jesup, GA 31599

PAY STRUCTURE: 1099 ($72.00 - $85.00)

SCHEDULE: As needed, Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of higher education as a pharmacist.
• Must have a current license to practice in any state in the United States.
• Must be able to pass the security clearances prior to performance of work.
• Possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems, and safety principles and infections control in the patient care environment.
• Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with physicians, peers, inmates, and others; to recognize, report, and record changes in patient’s physical and emotional condition.
• Be able to administer medication.

JOB DUTIES:

• Interpretation of medical/dental staff prescription orders. These orders may be the traditional physical prescription or orders taken from entries in the patient’s medical file.
• Selecting the correct medication and filling the prescription.
• Entering prescriptions into the pharmacy’s prescription computer system and printing prescription labels.
• Inventorying medications and supplies, recording items that are low and in stocking levels, and advising the Health Service Administrator (HSA) or COR of medications that need ordering.
• Interacting with inmates regarding their medication(s) and providing patient education about the medication(s).
