Location: VA Bedford 200 Springs Rd Bedford, MA 01730.

Payrate: $28.57 per hour.

Hours: Day shift, 8 hours per day. Current need is 8:00am-4:30pm (40 hours per week), but provider could be asked to work 8-hour shifts between 6:00am-6:00pm based on the need of the facility. Overtime and holiday shifts may be required. There is no on-call or standby required.

Requirements:

• Phlebotomist must have 3 years of recent Phlebotomy experience.
• Certification as a Phlebotomist.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.

Duties:

• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens from patients.
• Prepare labels for specimen processing.
• Establish safety and infection control standards of care.
• Shall cover the range of laboratory services, as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care meeting currently recognized by ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology), Joint Commission, AHA (American Hospital Association), CAP (College of American Pathologists), and VHA (Veterans Health Care Standards).
• Maintain patient medical records and adhere to HIPAA confidentiality guidelines.
