NEEDED: Phlebotomy Technician
LOCATION: 8730 Scroggs Road, Lisbon, Ohio 44432
SCHEDULE: 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold a professional certification as a Phlebotomy Technician in the State of Ohio.
- Have a minimum of six (6) months’ experience in healthcare.
- Shall have valid certification/license to practice in the State of Ohio and must submit photocopies of their license and/or board certification.
- Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Must possess knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures to perform job activities on various types of medical equipment and automated systems and of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment.
- Possess the ability to relate and deal effectively with Physicians, peers, adults in custody, and others
- Ability to recognize, report, and record changes in patient's physical and emotional condition.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Resume must reflect your experience with specimen collection, packaging and shipment to referral laboratories with knowledge of maintaining appropriate records.
- Phlebotomy Certification.
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or statement of willingness to obtain one prior to start date.
JOB DUTIES:
- Maintaining accountability of sharps. Once the phlebotomist comes to the pharmacy, they will check out needles and maintain control of those needles in a locked cabinet. At the end of the day, any needles not utilized will be returned to the pharmacy.
- Maintain a safe, clean and secure work area at all times.
- Maintain labs performed ensuring the information is sent to the MD.
- Perform hematology labs and urinalysis testing.
- Process the provider lab orders on the computer-based systems and performs appropriate testing.
- Monitor temperature logs.
- Assist with the gathering of information for IOP reports.
- The phlebotomist will submit quarterly reports printed from their computer of the total of draws for that period.
- Other job-related responsibilities required for a licensed phlebotomist.
