Hours :Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00
Dress Code - Scrubs/medical uniform and close-toed shoes
Job Description
Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professionals -
PPE, needles, tourniquets, collection tubes, lab equipment to process specimens such as centrifuge, Computer, phone, scanner, copier, printer, fax, calculator.
Computer software to be used -
HMS, MS Office, Laboratories portals.
Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience -
Bilingual: English/Spanish, data entry/computer proficiency, ability to multitask, excellent customer service, previous office/lab/medical office setting.
Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement -
English/Spanish. Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification with 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
Desired skills -
One year of phlebotomy experience.
Duties/Responsibilities -
Perform laboratory tests, venipunctures, and finger sticks.
Complete lab requisitions, entry of lab information in HMS electronic health record, eLabCorp, and other lab systems/modules as appropriate.
Perform waived tests as appropriate and ensure cleaning/sterilization of equipment as well as performance of control tests and/or autoclave with supporting documentation.
Document in lab logs, ensuring timely receipt of lab results, forwarding results to nurse or providers as appropriate, referral of critical lab values, and maintaining appropriate Quality Infection Control and Quality Management and other accreditation standards throughout the completion of lab procedures.
Computer data entry, assist with inventory of laboratory and medical supplies for ordering as needed in lab.
Comply with bio-hazardous waste policy.
