NEEDED: Physician
LOCATION: 1341 HWY 95 N., Bastrop, TX 78602
SCHEDULE: 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- 3 times a week for 40 weeks
- 2 times a week for 52 weeks (1 Year)
- As needed: 120 workdays per year
- Not to exceed an estimated 24 hours per week
- Call Coverage required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- US Citizen
- Must be certified to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
- Providing verification of credentials (education, current licensor/status competency, continuing medical education).
- Must have knowledge of routine office related duties including working knowledge of computers, word processing programs and be able to type.
- Must possess good organizational skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and be able to work effectively with the medical staff.
- Cannot have had a negative employment termination within 36 months prior to required background clearance process.
- Serious candidates must provide proof of their qualifications (at a minimum: CV, License, CMEs, CPR Certification). Failure to submit support documents may result in elimination from consideration.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services.
- Take medical history, examine patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays.
- Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications.
- Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing.
- Attend to medical emergencies.
- Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy.
- Emergency consultation to be performed in instances when deemed necessary.
- Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits.
- Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating, and revising program plans.
- Assists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of health care services.
- Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems.
- Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick-calls, which may include
- securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations.
- Provides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physician.
