We are currently seeking Radiologic Technologist Marianna, FL. The prospective employee will provide Radiologic Technician duties needed for the inmate population at FCI Marianna.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Pay Rate: $35.25/hr
  • 40 hours per week, 7:30am - 4:00pm, 8 hours per day with a thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period, if applicable, Monday through Friday, exclusive of Federal holidays.

Qualifications:

  • The Radiologic Technologist shall be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • The employee should also be licensed by the state of Florida.
  • They must have at least three or more years of experience. Background clearance packets submitted by potential contractor employees shall be accompanied by a certified or photostatic copy of their current license.
  • The RT must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • The RT must possess and submit with their quotation, evidentiary documentation of their graduation from an accredited school of radiology technology.

The services to be provided are professional in nature and will be commensurate with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards of care. The methods utilized will meet medical practices established in the local community. These services, although not directly supervised, will be reviewed periodically by a physician or staff member at the institution. The performance of these services will be monitored by the COR. The Clinical Director and/or Bureau of Prisons’ (BOP) Physician(s) will retain professional responsibility for all patients referred to radiology.

The Radiology Technician services will include, but are not limited to, the items listed below. Therefore, the RT shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support. The current radiological equipment provided at the institution is a Siemens CR machine and a GE Digital Machine. Knowledge of CR and fully digital equipment is preferred but not required.

  • Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for the AIC population at the institution.
  • Transmit, retrieve X-ray images and reports electronically, and scan reports into AICs’ Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR).
  • Receive training to retrieve radiographic consults from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures.
  • Work with an AIC population from a variety of cultural, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
  • Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
  • Schedule exams and maintain records.
  • Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
  • Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam. Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.
  • Independently perform all radiographic procedures; i.e., chest, bone, skull, spine, and portable x-rays, etc.
  • Notify Radiologist, or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed.
  • Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
  • Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
  • Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the local medical protocols.
  • Wear outer protective clothing and obey Center for Disease Control universal precautions at all times.
  • Function in other duties commensurate of a Radiology Technician.
  • Computerization and printing of daily log
  • Computerization and printing of exam requisitions
  • Printing of all folder and exam labels
  • Completing all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staff
  • Preparing x-rays for shipment to the radiologist for interpretation
  • Transport of x-rays to radiologist for interpretation
  • Transport all x-rays from radiologist after interpretation
  • Assisting the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, and notifying staff when supplies are needed.
  • Conducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on x-ray equipment as needed
  • Assisting with FDA inspections and preparation for TJC and program review as needed
  • Assuring that all x-ray requests are completed properly
  • Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis
