Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and providing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and various imaging modalities including X-ray, sonography, mammography, and nuclear medicine.

Duties

  • This position sets up all radiographic equipment prior to performing angiographic procedures, processes and performs quality control checks on cine radiographic images, assists in preparing patient for procedures and assists other members of the Cath lab/Interventional Radiology staff and physicians as needed to ensure timely and efficient use of the cardiac Cath lab/special procedures.
  • Perform diagnostic radiology procedures including X-rays, sonograms, and mammograms.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate imaging equipment effectively to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and patient care plans.
  • Follow established protocols for infection control and radiation safety.
  • Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and participate in continuing education as required.
  • Assist in emergency room settings as needed, demonstrating proficiency in emergency medicine protocols.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Radiologic Technologist ARRT is required. Must have one of three advanced certifications (CI, CV, or VI).
  • Experience in diagnostic radiology; additional experience in sonography or nuclear medicine is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, particularly in emergency settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety are essential.
  • Previous experience in mammography or emergency medicine is preferred but not mandatory.
