Physician Duties

Working collaboratively with intra and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients utilizing nationally

recognized treatment standards and documenting utilizing an electronic health record system

Conducting exams and writing evaluations and reports

Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing

Managing medication

Completing reclassifications and other reviews as indicated

Making referrals for specialized care or treatment

Performing duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related American

Correctional Association standards

Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews

Screenings must be initiated w/in 48 hrs of accepting offer.

No cell phones permitted until proper paperwork has been submitted and approved. Must clear a metal detector, no cans,

tobacco, vapes, etc permitted. Food/drinks must be in clear see through containers. No more than 1 gallon of water

permitted to be brought into the facility.

Searching for a physician who is board-eligible or board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency

medicine and who is experienced in primary care to provide on-site services on a full-time basis to the male population at

this “reception” prison. Schedule is weekdays - no evenings, weekends, or holidays - and is flexible based on needs of

facility. Assignment may least at least 6 months and may be extended based on good fit and mutual need. On-call

coverage is not required but may be requested after 3 months then implemented only if there is mutual agreement.

Assignment could lead to permanent hire. Both a phone interview and on-site meeting/tour will be required.

The following credentialing documents must be submitted: a comprehensive resume that includes education (with location

and year of graduation), training, and complete work history; Ohio license; healthcare-professional level BLS/CPR

certification; and Drug Enforcement Administration certification. A packet of ODRC forms must also be submitted so that a

background investigation can be completed. The results of a TB test and drug test must be made available to the hiring

manager at least 48 hours prior to start, or the start date may be postponed. The TB test must have been completed

within 30 days prior to start, and the drug test must have been completed within 60 days prior to start.
