NEEDED: Radiology Technologist

LOCATION: 3301 Leestown Rd, Lexington, KY 40511

  • Radiologic Technology Services will be performed in the radiology room located on the second floor of the "B" Building and at the FPC in the radiology room located on the third floor of the "A" building.
  • Shall be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certified, in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of digital equipment is preferred but not required.
  • Shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support.
  • Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
  • Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, between 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 0 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shall be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent

  • Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
  • Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.

DUTIES: Radiology Technologist services include, but are not limited to, the items listed below.

  • Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff.
  • Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
  • Participate in quality assurance processes.
  • Schedule exams and maintain electronic health records and schedules.
  • Work closely with Health Information and non-medical staff to schedule appointments.
  • Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.
  • Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.
  • Independently perform all radiographic procedures, i.e., chest, bone, skull, spines, and portable x-rays, etc. If needed, collect dosimetry badges; prepare dosimetry badges packaging and badge submission; receive dosimetry badges and report.
  • Notify the referring healthcare provider of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views or exams can be ordered if needed.
  • Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Work with the Clinical Director or designee and the staff x-ray technologist to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
  • Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
  • Computerization and printing of daily log.
  • Computerization and printing of exam requisitions.
  • Printing of all folder and exam labels.
  • Completing of all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staff.
  • Maintenance of all media formats and preparation for x-ray shipment to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • Responsible for filing discs in accordance with filing procedures, pulling discs for staff if needed for med trips, apts, etc. & pulling discs (from a provided roster) for staff to mail to their next institution.
  • Transport of x-rays to radiologist for interpretation if needed.
  • Transport all x-rays from radiologist after interpretation if needed.
  • Assisting the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, and notifying staff when supplies are needed.
  • Conducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on x-ray equipment as needed.
  • Assisting with FDA inspections and preparation for the Joint Commission and Program Review as needed.
  • Assuring that all x-ray requests are completed properly; and Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis.
