NEEDED: Dental Hygienist

LOCATION: Pine Knot, KY 42635

SCHEDULE: 32 hours per week, Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., excluding Federal holidays.

DUTIES:

Provide preventative and corrective treatment for patients presenting with general oral hygiene problems and routine dental cleanings. The duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

•  Making dental x-rays of the oral cavity, dental education to patients, and following treatment plans for patients requiring simple and complex dental care.
• Administrative duties include complete supportive paperwork to ensure compliance with Health
• Services Manual policies.
• Appropriate dental hygiene treatments which include oral health assessment, oral hygiene evaluation,
• prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, gross debridement, supportive periodontal maintenance, coronal
• polishing, adjunctive periodontal treatment, irrigation of periodontal pockets, and topical fluoride application.
• Manage patients requiring special considerations during dental treatment. This includes patients
• with asthma, emphysema, allergies, diabetes, hypertension, heart murmurs, pre and post (after 90 days) open heart surgery, and behavioral patients undergoing psychiatric care.
• Practice universal precautions before, during and after patient care including disinfection of the treatment area and instruments used.

REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE:

• One year of experience.
• Must be a graduate of an ADA approved dental hygiene school and has acquired a current state license to practice dental hygiene, without restrictions.
