NEEDED: Laborer – Refuse Collector

LOCATION: Charlotte, NC

SCHEDULE: Shifts

• 1st Shift: 6:30 AM, 8-10 hours
• 2^nd shift: 3:00 or 3:30 PM, 8-10 hours
• 3^rd Shift: 10:00 PM, 8 hours

QUALIFICATIONS:

• No minimum education or driver's license is required for general laborer assignments
• Prior laborer experience is not required unless specified for a particular assignment.
• Specific assignments may require additional qualifications, experience, screening, or other requirements, which will be identified when needed.
• Must be capable of lifting and moving materials weighing up to 100 pounds and performing extended periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and repetitive manual labor.
• Must be able to pass a background check (state and federal previous 7-years).
• Must be able to pass initial, random, and incident drug testing.

JOB DUTIES:

• Safely perform assigned duties;
• Follow reasonable instructions from authorized City personnel;
• Work cooperatively with City employees and other personnel;
• Perform physically demanding manual labor;
• Comply with all safety, PPE, attire, attendance, and assignment requirements;
• Work under varied environmental and weather conditions;
• Interact courteously and professionally with customers, residents, and the public; and
• Represent the City positively as an extension of the City workforce.
• Assignments may require outdoor work in heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions that may reasonably occur.
