NEEDED: Pharmacist

LOCATION: 1 Glen Ray Road, Alderson, WV 24910

SCHEDULE: 

• PRN, Travel, Per Diem, 
• Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:    

• Pharmacist must maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in any U.S. state.
• Must include evidence of qualifications including Pharmacist license, diploma, transcripts, résumé, two reference letters, and a clear NPDB report.
• Must pass all required security clearances prior to performing work.
• Required competencies include knowledge of medical equipment, automated systems, safety and
• infection control procedures, and the ability to interact effectively with staff and inmates.
• Must recognize and document changes in patient condition and be able to administer medications.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Pharmacist duties must comply with standards of professional pharmacy practice and all applicable regulations, ACA standards, and federal/state policies. Duties include:

• Reviewing and interpreting prescription orders from medical/dental staff
• Selecting, dispensing, and labeling medications
• Entering prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system
• Monitoring inventory levels and notifying the Health Services Administrator (HSA) or COR when items require replenishment
• Communicating with inmates about medications and providing appropriate education
