Pay: $30 per hour.

Hours: 16 hours per week. Can work either four 4-hour shifts or two 8-hour shifts.

Overview:  Nutrition Health Educator will oversee Nutrition Strategy implementation partners to ensure all activities, deliverables, and reporting requirements are completed in alignment with program goals and contractual obligations. The Nutrition strategy includes:

  • Improving nutrition through training on facility-level food service guidelines and procurement practices
  • Expanding the Fruit and Vegetable Voucher Incentive Program (Mobile Farmers Market) to increase fruit and vegetable consumption among DeKalb County residents

Scope of Work / Deliverables:

  • Monitor implementation partners' performance against scope, deliverables, and timelines
  • Develop and maintain systems to track:
    • Facility-level changes in nutrition practices
    • Voucher distribution and redemption rates
  • Support creation of the Nutrition Health Ambassador Toolkit (includes guidelines, educational materials, and strategies for healthy environments)
  • Oversee scheduling of the Mobile Farmers Market (coordinate locations, dates, times; organize itinerary; communicate with vendors; promote events)
  • Ensure all activities align with DKPH guidelines and funding requirements
  • Compile partner data into overall program reports
  • Provide technical assistance
  • Attend scheduled meetings, including mandatory monthly meetings with the funder (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in public health, Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Education, or related field
  • Strong background in community-based nutrition programs
  • Experience developing toolkits, training materials, or educational resources for community health initiatives
  • Familiarity with food service guidelines and procurement policies
  • Experience coordinating or managing farmers’ markets, mobile markets, or food distribution programs (including vendor engagement and event logistics)
